We know the power of networks and the value of meaningful internship experiences. We also know that academic and research opportunities are much harder for scholars of color to acquire, due to years of systematic racial privileging and institutional exclusion. LZC is growing the field of immigrant scholars* through a paid Immigrant Scholar Internship Program, our annual summer program designed to offer students with lived experience in immigrant families or communities the opportunity to work on LZC studies and inform the direction of the Center. Separately from the Immigrant Scholar Internship Program, we accept students seeking fellowship or internship placements with LZC on a limited basis.
*The Leah Zallman Center defines “immigrant scholar” as a person who has lived experience in immigrant families or communities.
