Cassandra Pierre, MD, MPH, MSc

Dr. Cassandra M. Pierre is an infectious disease physician and the associate hospital epidemiologist at Boston Medical Center (BMC). Dr. Pierre is also the medical director of Public Health Programs, which provides resources for HIV, HCV, and STI prevention, and connection to care and management throughout the hospital with the support of state and local public health agencies. She is an assistant professor of infectious diseases and the chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Council at Boston University Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine. Her research is focused on preventing infection in vulnerable populations, including the implementation of low-cost infection control interventions to reduce bacteremia among neonates in low-income settings. Her clinical interests include HIV management in special subpopulations including, immigrants of color, pregnant women, transactional sex workers, and people with substance use disorder.
