Lisaury Diaz
Lisaury Diaz (she/her/ella) is a Research Assistant at the Leah Zallman Center for Immigrant Health Research (LZC). Lisaury is a part of the core operations team of the Center and has a myriad of responsibilities around administration. Lisaury came to LZC as an Immigrant Scholar Intern in the Fall of 2022 while she was completing her undergraduate studies at Rhode Island College. Lisaury has experience in supporting research in her university that explored the relationships between culture and ideologies of healing, worked as an editor for the university’s newspaper, and worked as an office assistant at the Rhode Island College Unity Center.
Lisaury received her dual BA in Anthropology and Gender and Women’s Studies with a minor in Latin American Studies from Rhode Island College. She is currently pursuing her MPH in Epidemiology and Biostatistics with a context certificate in Human Rights and Social Justice at Boston University. Lisaury was born and raised in the Dominican Republic and immigrated to the United States at the age of 17. In her free time, she enjoys reading, practicing yoga, writing poetry, and hanging out with her dog, Lucas.
