Cambridge Health Alliance
ICH was the evaluator for the first year of the Art Museum-Based Health Professions Education Fellowship, a new fellowship program of The Cambridge Health Alliance Center for Professional and Academic Development and the Harvard Macy Institute. The first year of the fellowship was a design year with the fellows participating as design partners, and ICH conducted a formative evaluation to document the evolution of the fellowship design and its expected outcomes. ICH collaborated with fellowship faculty to create a logic model depicting the fellowship activities, expected short/medium/long-term outcomes, and ultimate impact. ICH also conducted in-person and asynchronous virtual focus groups in which the cohort of 12 fellows were asked to reflect on their experience with the fellowship, recommendations for improvement, how they are using what they have learned, their personal and professional goals, and how the fellowship has impacted their work and their aspirations in the field. In addition, ICH developed evaluation recommendations for future fellowship years and provided technical assistance (TA) to fellows to assist them with evaluating their fellowship-related projects at their home institutions. Fellowship faculty will use ICH’s evaluation findings to make improvements to future iterations of the fellowship program, and to disseminate information about the fellowship and its early outcomes to other health professions educators.
