Director of Health Equity, ACEDONE

Ayatt Elawad is the Director of Health Equity at African Community Economic Development of New England (ACEDONE). She completed her Master of Public Health degree from Boston University, concentrating on Community Assessment, Program Design, Implementation, and Evaluation with a focus on Global Health. ACEDONE is a non-profit organization that strives to partner with families to help African refugees and immigrants in Boston to develop a self-sufficient and vital community by providing the youth with the education and life experience to thrive socially, professionally, and economically. As the Director of Health Equity, Ayatt evaluates and monitors projects crucial to achieving measurable outcomes for eliminating health disparities within the African community in the Greater Boston area. This includes the implementation of a community-based project addressing the mental health needs of the community. Her role requires the need to demonstrate an understanding of social determinants of health and commitment to health equity.
